Pakistan’s glorious victory over India continues to be celebrated today
The day was June 18, 2017. Pakistan defeated India by 180 runs and the whole of Pakistan jumped.
The victory in the Champions Trophy final against India is unforgettable for the Pakistani fans and today in Pakistan, ‘CT17’, ‘Mohammad Amir‘ and ‘Fakhar Zaman‘ started trending once again. On Thursday morning, the International Cricket Council also reminded cricket and Pakistani fans on Twitter of the spectacular victory against India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2017 held exactly three years ago today. Refreshed On the occasion, Sarfraz Ahmed, the then captain of the winning team, posted a video commemorating the victory and wrote, “Long live Pakistan.”

Many Twitter users started remembering Mohammad Amir’s great bowling that day. User Matool Hussain shared the ICC video which was based on the highlights of Mohammad Aamir’s three balls which broke the back of the strongest Indian batting defense. On that day, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shakar Dhawan were bowled by Aamir and despite performing well throughout the tournament, the Indian batsmen could not break Muhammad Aamir’s bowling on the final day.

It may be recalled that Virat Kohli’s catch was dropped in the slip on the ball of Mohammad Aamir and the commentators had said that “you cannot drop the catch of Virat Kohli“. This was the occasion in the final match when many thoughts that Pakistan had lost the Champions Trophy because Virat Kohli is called the best ‘run chaser‘ in the world. But on the next ball, Mohammad Aamir took the wicket of Kohli and this time Shadab Khan caught and played an important role in ensuring the victory.

Mohammad Aamir also took to Twitter on the occasion and wrote in his message that ‘The best day of my life is the Champions Trophy Final 2017. Praise be to Allah. This message was retweeted by the then Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur and he wrote “What a great spell of bowling”. On this message, Mohammad Amir thanked him and wrote “Thank you coach”.

In this thread, Anas Saeed thanked coach Mickey Arthur for his role in this victory and wrote, “Coach you made it possible.” Pakistani cricket fans have not forgotten the performance of Shadab Khan who caught Kohli on the ball of Mohammad Amir. On the one hand, his excellent fielding and on the other hand, the memorable moment when Shadab assured captain Sarfraz Ahmed with full confidence that he had made Yuvraj Singh LBW and he should take a look.

In this match too, like the entire tournament, Hassan Ali bowled well. He received the award for the best player of the tournament. In this final of 2017, young player Fakhar Zaman played a very important role in scoring 338 runs for Pakistan. His brilliant century weighed heavily on Pakistan. Remember that one day before the final, Fakhar Zaman was in a bad mood and had severe pain in his body and his participation in the match was uncertain till the very end. But after constant work with the physio, he was able to bat. Despite all this, he scored 114 runs in his aggressive innings with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes and was declared the best player of the match. User Rana Aqeel shared a screenshot of the occasion when Jaspreet Bhamra bowled Fakhar Zaman in the opening overs but in the replay it was found out that Bhamra had bowled nine balls. At the end of the match, Virat Kohli had mentioned Fakhar Zaman and said that when someone is in such form and plays such ‘Orthodox’, it becomes impossible to stop him. It was a match in which everything was going in Pakistan’s favor.
